These terms govern Kodivo at kodivo.dev. The service provider is Jakub Lipiński, operating a Polish unregistered business. Contact for accounts, complaints and other matters: [email protected].
Service and technical requirements
Kodivo provides programming lessons, checks, sources and saved progress. Personal learning requires an account, a working email address, a current browser supporting JavaScript and necessary session cookies, and internet access. Public pages and the sample lesson demonstrate the service without saving account progress. Connection costs depend on your provider.
Who can register
Accounts are available from age 16. At registration, you confirm that you are at least 16. We do not request a birth date or additional guardian confirmation. Your declaration must be truthful; it is not identity-document verification. Where applicable law requires a legal representative to enter the agreement, that requirement still applies.
Account and agreement
Registration requires a name, email, age declaration and acceptance of these terms. You can use a password or an available GitHub or Google sign-in option. Social registration requires explicit confirmation of age, terms and reading the privacy policy after returning from the provider and before the account is created. We record the acceptance date and version. Verify your own email after registering unless the sign-in provider has already confirmed that exact address; there is no additional guardian-confirmation step. The account is created when a valid registration is accepted, and private learning becomes available after the required confirmations. You can save or print these terms using your browser.
The free-account agreement has an indefinite duration. You may end it by deleting the account or contacting the operator.
Free access
Kodivo currently provides free access. Every eligible learner has the same access to all published chapters, lessons and available technologies, and saved progress. There is no paid plan, subscription or requirement to contribute. Announced material is available only after publication.
Responsibilities and security
Protect your password, passkeys and private links. Use your own account and do not share it. Illegal content, infringement of others' rights, unauthorised access, bypassing restrictions and disrupting the service are prohibited. Contact the operator about incorrect age information or security concerns.
Voluntary support and sponsors
Kodivo is funded by voluntary contributions and sponsorship. Supporting Kodivo is optional, unlocks no extra lessons and gives no better learning access. The support form and Stripe payment are intended for adults acting on their own behalf. Card details are supplied to Stripe, not Kodivo. Sponsorship arrangements are agreed separately through [email protected].
The amount and currency are shown before redirecting to Stripe and again before payment confirmation. Contributions are not presented as charitable donations or as eligible for tax deductions. Contact the operator about a mistaken contribution or a refund; mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
Contributions are one-time payments in USD, from $1 to $1,000. They never create recurring charges. Refunds are processed through Stripe; the time to appear in your account depends on the payment method and bank.
Materials and learning
Kodivo materials and branding are protected by applicable rights. Documentation excerpts and other sources retain their authorship, licences and notices in the references. These terms do not restrict rights granted by those licences. Do not redistribute other Kodivo materials without a legal basis. Completing lessons is not a formal qualification or a guarantee of employment or proficiency.
Complaints and consumer rights
Send complaints to [email protected], describing the issue and providing contact details. We will respond to a consumer complaint within 14 days of receipt. You retain statutory rights concerning conformity of digital services and content and applicable remedies. We do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded towards consumers.
Where a statutory distance-contract withdrawal right applies, you can generally exercise it within 14 days by sending an unambiguous statement to the contact address. Registration and guardian confirmation alone do not waive this right. You may seek assistance from the competent consumer authority, including information from UOKiK.
Ending use and changes
You may stop using the service and delete your account in settings or contact the operator. Account deletion removes linked progress and guardian requests. We may restrict access for violations where necessary to protect the service and users; questions and appeals may be sent to the contact address.
Material changes will be presented with their effective date and the option to stop using the service. Continued use is not consent to a new charge. Changes requiring renewed acceptance receive a new version. Choosing Polish law does not remove a consumer's protection under mandatory provisions of their applicable law. Polish and English versions describe the same rules.
Learning with your own AI application
You may optionally connect a compatible AI application through MCP after signing in to Kodivo and explicitly authorizing that application. It can read published lessons and your learning progress, save your position, submit answers, reveal solutions and complete lessons under the same server-side rules as the website. You may use the materials in your connected application for personal learning, subject to the source licenses and attribution requirements. This does not grant a right to redistribute Kodivo materials.
Answers submitted through MCP are recorded as AI-assisted and do not earn independent-solution achievements. Existing independent results and completed lessons remain preserved. The AI application should ask before revealing a solution or completing a lesson, but you should also check the permissions and action approvals offered by your chosen client. Generated explanations can contain mistakes; compare them with the lesson and cited sources.
You provide your own compatible application and provider account. Any subscriptions, usage charges, availability, age requirements and provider terms apply separately. Kodivo does not supply or pay for external AI usage. Our minimum age does not override a provider's own requirements. Browser authorization is separate from accepting these terms and from optional analytics consent.
You can disconnect an application in Learn with AI. This revokes its access and preserves your learning progress. External copies are governed by the recipient's applicable policies. Protect your connection credentials and authorize only applications you trust. Mandatory consumer rights and our liability obligations remain unchanged.
Daily goals and reminder preferences
You can choose a daily goal of 1, 2 or 3 completed lessons, with 2 suggested by default, and change it in settings. Goals use the timezone saved with your preferences and reset at local midnight. Completing a lesson for the first time counts for that day, including completion after showing a solution or with AI assistance; rereading does not add another completion. A missed goal does not restrict lessons or create a debt for the next day.
Email reminders are a separate choice in onboarding and settings. The option is checked by default, and saving the form enables it when selected. Existing learners must save their own choice before reminders begin. We schedule at most one reminder per local day at 18:00 when the goal is unfinished and further content is available. After 5 reminders without an authenticated app visit, reminders pause until you return. Delivery depends on working queues, the mail provider and your mailbox; we do not guarantee exact arrival or resend missed days after an outage.
Each reminder links to continuation, settings and an unsubscribe page. Turning off reminders preserves learning access and progress. We may keep operational delivery records as explained in the privacy policy. Using or declining this optional feature does not alter free access to published lessons.
